I noticed the not-amazing framerates myself and the DX9 renderer. I do remember how long it took them to finally move GW2 off DX9 too... guessing this was an "ain't nobody got time for that" decision. Maybe I should look into DXVK.

A few years ago I went through Michaels (US) to get a piece I'd commissioned printed, but that was mostly because I needed a custom frame for it due to the unusual size. Wasn't cheap but it was reasonable considering the scope of the work, and the quality was quite good.

There are various ways to catch these sorts of problems earlier (e.g. a custom memory manager that always says "no" to attempts to delete shared data) but they may not be a good return on investment, necessarily...

He could potentially be considered an unauthorized immigrant, of a sort...

Is the line in the form about all slots being claimed correct, or carried over from a previous opening? It's hard to be sure but I feel like at least one of the reposts happened after I noticed that...

...yeah, I remember thinking that there were things I liked about that movie, but... it could have been so much better.

Super cool :)

Probably Galeshot, but there are a bunch I should keep my eye on... folks are telling me Amalgam will be cracked so I think that warrants a try.

Looking further into this (I don't know why lol) this has actually happened before in Nevada. Authorities said no.

But it'd be an entertaining case.

Hmm. In WA, unclear because the HOV regulations don't describe what "passenger" means to that level of detail. Federal guidance specifies that it shouldn't include unborn fetuses but doesn't talk about deceased people. I have a suspicion most courts would conclude the answer is "no", though.

The million dollar question... will they get Roy?

The eye alignment is such a cool effect.

One of the things I learned in engineering school that stuck was that when things go REALLY wrong, the root cause is almost always bad management. Over the 15 years since, when I've seen games turn into disasters, the common thread has been... yep, bad management.
I hope more VG fans learn this too.

Maybe it's too simplistic, but I kinda think that if they want to figure out a winning platform, instead of playing pundit and blaming each other, they should just poll the general public "if this were part of the party platform, would you be more or less likely to vote for it?"
June 6, 2025 at 4:27 AM
Personally I think if we could get away from the two-party system, that part of the problem would take care of itself. Progressives could run as progressives, moderates could run as moderates, and we see where the votes actually go.

In terms of "user experience", I kind of like Borda Count - looks like RCV but is actually a compromise voting method so isn't susceptible to center squeeze. It might be more exploitable, though, so in practice STAR might win out.
RCV might have the least uphill battle winning voters' trust though.

I've sometimes skimmed sections for "trigger warning" type reasons, but that's about it... hadn't heard about people simply skipping things that *don't interest* them.

Would be amazing if the EoD map metas could be adjusted a bit to allow trains to smoothly transition through the whole set, though :)
But, I'll be back anyway... got a few things to finish up.

I dunno, Shemeshka would tell you they end happily enough. For her, at least.

Well, it beats the surprise ice cream delivery my landlord told me I got while I was on vacation, I guess.

It saves on BV for the gun count when used as a fire support mech... but I wouldn't use it as a front liner, no.

I *hate* it, but that last sentence is pretty much right. That alone is enough to keep RAM manufacturers in business...

Probably the desert fox, largely because of how you find it... or it finds you. :)

For some reason I thought that was not not intentional 😅
Though that turn of phrase is more of a Cinder Steeltemper thing I guess...
