A snippet of the people who liked a post from someone with 40 followers. The post has almost 200 likes, and almost all of them are from users with the same domain name: "haruhwa.com" A profile with 40-something followers with the bio: "Hello, my name is Dana. I'm feminine, passionate model, and I love being watched and getting attention from you, babe. Come to say hi, and I'll show you my amazing world!!" And there's a tinyurl link that most likely goes to an Onlyfans page. Post from OF profile that reads: "Journaling? Total game changer! But let's be real, why settle for boring prompts? Instead, how about writing your wildest fantasies or dreams for your future (yes, I'm talking private jets and candlelit dinners)? Let's manifest that luxe life, darlings!" I felt nauseous just writing that slop. You're welcome, alt-text readers.

Ana Blufelt, inarguably the most powerful spellslinger in Tabaria, is haunted. She knows it, the little dead girl following her everywhere and tormenting her knows it, even the... actually, just them. Unfortunately, nobody else seems to think so — not her neglectful parents, not her idiotic childhood friend, not even the burly warrior woman who may or may not have a thing for her and Ana may or may not feel the same way. It's hard to make time for developing feelings for someone when you're constantly questioning what's real and what's not, all the while investigating on the royal family's behalf a bigoted, hateful death cult that may be behind a long string of kidnappings. As if that weren't enough, a demigod appeared recently and apprised her and her friends of the notion that their long-godless society was actually once watched over by several gods, and they want her to try and unite a fractured world and bring peace to the lands. If she succeeds, the gods return and grant the world their divinity. Fail, and they abandon the world to its slow-but-sure decay. It's only a matter of time until Ana cracks. When she does, pray for Tabaria — if there are any gods left to pray to, that is.

Like, forever?” Layla looked about. “What, in a dirty back-alley in the Artisan District?” she laughed. “We can hold hands while we walk, you beautiful dolt.” Like an affectionate cat, she bumped her head against his shoulder and pulled him onward. And just like that, something broke in him. He loved her. She’d become his world. He wanted to tell her right then and so much more. He could be cast adrift among the farthest sea of stars, and he’d find his way back to tell her none shined as bright as her. He could be flung back to the sandy beaches of Bayhesht, and Royce would learn how to rip open a portal to come back and tell her she was the only true paradise for him. More came to mind, and he worried he’d never get another chance. “Right, yeah. Duh,” was all he got out with a laugh. His fingers clenched in her grip in embarrassment.
