Getting a vertical profile of the atmosphere is ESSENTIAL for reliable forecasts. It gives us a FULL picture of what the weather is doing at all levels. It's integral for severe weather.
Green Bay is now down to ONE launch per day.
Others are eliminated.

Seeing more contrails this morning?
There's a reason for that. The atmosphere at airplane height (200 mb or 35,000') is moist - condensed. Therefore, when planes fly through it, the water vapor expelled stays there longer before it evaporates.
Cool eh?
