This does not mean the Epstein files will be released. This means the House will go back in, and they will hopefully force a vote on the Epstein files bill. Then the bill goes over to the Senate and dies. Trump wouldn’t even need to veto it.

Not really. All this does is force a vote in the House (which hopefully the good guys win), and then the bill goes over to the Senate to die. Even, if by some miracle the Senate overcame the filibuster, Trump could just veto the bill.

I just wrote my two Senators (from Virginia) and said they and their colleagues should be ashamed of themselves.

I might say the same thing about the voters who put the GOP in charge of everything in the 2024 elections (especially the voters who sat out the election because they were upset about the price of eggs).

The best thing Dems can do is find ways to remind people that the reason we’re in this mess is because the GOP controls all the branches of gov’t. If they want things to change, the voters need to give Dems control of the House and/or Senate.

Even they’ve heard about Article 1, Section 5 of the Constitution, which defines what a quorum in the House is. They would (correctly) see a Democrats only session as a kind of model UN.

I kind of doubt it. The media (for all its faults) knows fake legislating from real legislating.

The quorum requirement to conduct business in the House is 218. Dems only have 213. The Speaker controls the CSPAN cameras.

You’d better hope you’re wrong. You seem a lot more energized to fight Democrats than Trump. You go on being you, and the rest of us will try and clean up this mess.

To hear you tell it, the Dems were as bad as the GOP, so voters acted rationally when they stayed home and gave the keys back to Trump. I don’t buy that. The Dems aren’t perfect. We agree on almost nothing. (Biden was also wrong about Gaza). But even at our worst we’re better than Trump.
