Line TO Finch West. But ya, they should clear that up.

Is it just me or does this seem like an unreasonably long closure for the type of work they are publicly talking about? Feels like maybe they are trying to slip in some maintenance/upgrades along the original branch under the radar...

This is excellent news - we've got the buttons, about time we used them! And brings operations on Line 1 and Line 2 a little closer to being the same...

I really like this idea. Hell, even just Greenboro to the Airport would be helpful for early transit riders. And on that note, seeing as they don't want to use the pocket track at South Keys, why aren't they running 4 to Greenboro to reverse. That's where there's a park&ride. Lots of time to do it.

Not sure what your question is? Induced demand is a thing for roads and transit. In Canada (and in my case, Ontario) drivers rarely get tolled for driving. Yet somehow it is controversial to even consider removing the toll on transit users. That's all my point is. It needs to be discussed. Openly.

Fine, user fee for transit users. No user fee for road users. I'm sure that won't contribute to car culture at all. lol

But that is the shell game governments like us to believe is at stake. It's not. It's a false equation. They could still invest the 2B *and* find the 1B elsewhere in the budget (say from the highways expansion fund).

That certainly hasn't been the case around Canada, where tolls on roads remain extremely rare. The accepted notion that users of one network get free taxpayer-funded access, while users of transit are expected to subsidize the service... Just saying, it might be time to rethink that paradigm.

While I get what you're saying, it does risk falling into the category of "we always did it this way so why change!" I'd point to your evolving thoughts on fare gates. Why would free transit have to equal poor transit? That logic certainly isn't applied to the highway network...

Good to know! Thanks for the tip... Signed up a few weeks ago but haven't had time to do much exploring here yet...
