One of the oddest things about this moment is that mainstream media is like “it’s the end of our democracy” and then “look how cute these fucking pandas are” and “holy shit some of our favorite Patagonia winter jackets are on sale 40% this month”. Complete whiplash, consumerism, and insincerity.

I cried this morning looking at the snow. Unexpectedly, I felt like a kid again, waking up in Emlenton, Pennsylvania. Now we are watching the news with people giddy. There is so much goodness left in this fucking country. We have to identify and lift it up.
