Retired teacher, gay, proudly left wing and anti-Trump, book loving, weird music and film lover, nature boy, tree hugger, and seriously not interested in becoming friends with porn oriented women who want to DM me. There have I covered it all? Unlikely.
Oh, just those last few words!

I saw a video of Patti Smith talking about his books. She said that although there’s a clear narrative, you can also enjoy him by picking up books you’ve already read and just reading random passages. I intend to do that with Herscht 07769.

I just finished Herscht 07769. It’s definitely worth a look!

I just finished reading your translation and found it beautiful. Throughout, I kept wondering what the process of translating this kind of work must be like.

In this case, at least, the entire book is a single sentence!

I’m a much bigger fan of the Nobel Prize for Literature than I am of the Peace Prize.

That’s why I said “who said she was a nurse” instead of “who was a nurse.”

There’s a profile of David Byrne in the same issue. You don’t have to read the whole magazine.

Every Thursday, I skim the New Yorker and decide what I will definitely read after the fiction and The Talk of the Town. Even though there’s a profile of David Byrne, I will read the Loomer article first. I love reading about right wing crazies for some reason. 🤷‍♂️
