Love Song to Democracy
@djareedit.bsky.social
A lot of our jumping and screaming about how democracy is on fire only gives the other side something to focus on OTHER THAN THE FIRE.

Current plan: Let it burn for a while till they notice the heat. Maybe the fire will convert some dumbasses into allies.
The problem is that all of NIST's PQC recommendations are arguably still potentially quantum-vulnerable, which is why organizations using them can only claim that they are "quantum-resistant."

This algorithm achieves perfect secrecy at scale (actually quantum-proof)...

I searched for Q-Day and found this.

This could be pretty appropriate for Q-Day.

Is there any point in talking about “typical” anymore?

We left typical behind a good while back.

Curious what you think about this one. They claim to have achieved "operational perfect secrecy," just presented this at the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Technet / NATO conference in Rome: eprint.iacr.org/2025/1721

To be very clear, I’d bet that what you’re implying happened did in fact happen.

That being said, the flight logs don’t show him going to the island or anywhere clearly incriminating.

So it doesn’t make much sense to focus on them when you’re trying to stir up suspicion.

You’re concluding that he can’t keep a secret because he chose to reveal this fact to Elizabeth Warren?

I’d bet good money that he was just trying to take control of a story that he knew would get out, anyway.

And… would you be happier if he were better at denying his checkered past?

They’ve had some practice.

Between 2008-2016, two South Korean presidents were sent to prison.

The first took bribes from Samsung.

The second, daughter of an assassinated military strongman, took millions from Samsung, shared national secrets, and blacklisted her enemies.

Sound familiar?

Devil on my shoulder: If you need to keep putting one foot in front of the other because you don't have the luxury of taking a mental health day despite the inexorable approach of orange doom, maybe you should let it all burn and watch marbles race each other.

Not a weird question, but if pollers all tried to sway people after getting their feedback, I think it would discourage future participation in polls. Cause you know the right would do it, too.

Therefore, it seems like bad practice for organizations in the business of polling people.
