What must one do to start connecting with authors here?

I believe in my book so much that I skipped ads, gave away the ebook for free, recorded the audiobook live on TikTok, and give away 5 copies every week.

I’m betting on the book because I know it can change lives when people read it. So far. The campaign has worked.

Over the weekend,I realized how opaque the process of getting a book published truly is. So many authors are willing to give everything away just for a Barnes & Noble signing (even if no one shows up) or to hit “Amazon Best Seller” status by giving their book away for free. But why? They never know.

What percent are authors typically seeing from Amazon? I know it says they should only be taking 30% but I’m seeing a much higher split…
