was struggling to sketch today so went for a walk to shake it off and get air and picked myself up some nice oak #leaves to sketch. there's something about oak #trees that I love, I don't know what it is. (even if yesterday I took a falling acorn to the face lol) #oak #fall

we desperately need more rain though. the local river is really struggling, in some places there's only a few tiny streams of water. people may love the sunshine but rain is necessary in so many ways.

The highlight of my trip. this little grebe. I'd watched it try and get to eat its own fish, while being pursued by the baby it had been encouraging to feed itself.
This is after much pestering and noise and the parent i think is trying to get some peace lol badly taken picture

a not great picture of a cormorant. Instead of the usual wings out still, it was a very flappy character. one of the swans.
