I just want to marry a beautiful city girl who will make me biscuits. Man of (touching) the cloth: Chelsea FC, Harlequins, history generally and especially the 11th Suffolks in WW1.
Not one of the larger makers, Simon, no. Govancroft in Glasgow was dominant, but the really huge makers were all south of he border. Always good to see these out in the wild!

Riders is the obvious choice. Title track's also hard to beat. But I always liked Been Down. Not my favourite of their albums, tbh.

Favourite track?

Fun is absolutely the name of the game with these old girls, I think.

Will we be enjoying Loop's version of 'Cinnamon Girl'?

A fine photo, Andy. Album cover, that.

Prefer a nice game of Nahtzee, myself...

Hope you had a look at the HMS Vindictive grappling hook behind it Steve - and the Zeebrugge bell hanging above the door to the Town Hall, just next door.

Reminds me of that Line in Withnail - 'Free to those who can afford it, very expensive to those who can't.'

good to see. Must roll mine out of the garage soon - 'tis becoming the weather for them once again.

Nice. Will never not be deeply in love with "Jesus' Blood..."

Certainly looks like it's been done right, from your pics. Seem to recall my Grandad spent time on posting at Kenley 'fixing kites' as he used to put it.

Nice to see the dispersal revetments there.

He is quite a man, Nick - which is more than can be said for either of his pathetic White House tormentors.

Ah, Simon's cleverer than me and it shows in how he expresses himself. Over on the platform formerly known as Twitter, meanwhile, military history people are falling over themselves to queue up and tell Lord Cashcroft how great he is and how naughty the IWM people are. *sigh*

Yup - works for me! Will be interesting to see what they do with it.

Just can't find it in myself the mourn the demise of a tax avoider's vanity project (which probably makes me a bad person).

I mean, if medals float your boat - fair enough. But it wasn't even like they were presented in an exciting, innovative, exhilarating way. Put the space to better use.

Seems like an unpopular view though Chris, tbh. Hey-ho!

TBH couldn't really care less. Think the geezer's a nasty piece of work. Don't think we should have a gallery to display the wares from his serial tax avoidance. But feels like that's mainly just me.
Also the gallery was (at least when I went) really effing boring!
