At a graduation today the speaker reminded us of the importance of having fun, learning lots, making mistakes & getting messy. Good advice for kids but pretty apt for uni grads. Don’t play safe. Make advances.

Glad to participate in “What if Wednesday” with Ali Moore on Melbourne ABC Drive today. What if we banned smacking & gave children the same legal protections as adults. Spoiler: I’m pro legislative change. What do you think?

I am working on a joint submission to the Queensland Law Reform Commission calling for them to recommend the repeal of legislation that allows parents to hit their children for discipline.

This form of violence has no place in our homes or legislation.

1 in 2 Australian parents have hit their child for discipline. No form of violence against children should be legally sanctioned. The Queensland Law Reform Commission is currently reviewing legal defences in this area. This is a huge opportunity to reduce violence towards children. bit.ly/47SPdhq
