reading this right now. really been hoping you will do a BISR class on this book/topic. many sources & threads to cohere around the larger topic into a syllabus. possibilities: Douglas on contamination, Sartre on the viscous, Bynum Walker, bodily fluids in feminist art history, biofilms, etc etc etc

Totally get this.

It’s imperfect, but I think our kind of work has 3 roles right now:

- to document & remember (radical when time feels unmoored)

- to think & speak with precision (when so much noise rejects rigour)

- to see seemingly familiar things anew (articulating alternatives is a way out)

I love your writing, but I’m curious why you chose to publish this with NYT & thereby lend them any of your credibility when they got us into this mess with the mealy-mouthed slop they publish. Why not somewhere with more integrity like the NYRB, where I’ve read you before, or The New Yorker, etc.?

So… are we all switching to Tor Browser now?

the question is why pin & promote an amazon link. I see the option to buy from UMN buried under the Amazon link, but I don’t see the open access option. You could just as easily link to another book outlet (like UMN Press)…

why link to bezos’ amazon and not bookshop.org or anywhere else?

You’re our last hope. The people love you!

another power vacuum!

resignation—the abdication of power—is not courageous. we want them out of office because of how weak they are, but resigning creates a power vacuum paving the way for further corruption. a courageous, principled position would be to stand your ground and use the power you have for justice.

This is all fluff. The Inability Committee is composed of Adams appointees who are hamstrung and weak in the knees. This is Brad playing softball to appear like he is doing anything of value for the people so he can get his mayoral votes. DO SOMETHING REAL!
