I like all things Chicago, love most things political, and hate anything that’s anti-union.
Unrelated, how does 40 + 23 = 62 favorable for @govjbpritzker.bsky.social I get it’s a mathematical error, but if polling is your job…

The presidency from an incumbent, the House, and then the Senate in a midterm where Dems were projected to lose…

Show me a presidential candidate that outperformed Harris in modern political history in comparison to the incumbent party’s approval rating. She over performed that number by 8 points. By that metric, if Biden had 45% approval rating, she would have won in a landslide.

Politics isn’t in the federal government it’s in local government. And the overwhelming majority of statehouses and municipal governments are dominated by GOPers. So they don’t have to worry about restarting a movement every 2 years. It’s already built in.

Favorability of said party’s incumbent president. Biden sat at 41ish and it looks like VP Harris gained almost 8 points on that number. Historically, that is unprecedented. Politically it is almost impossible.

Much like the OP points to, we don’t need radical change (as Bannon/TP types are)

I’ve read similar takes and I reject it. We don’t defeat fascism with fascism. We don’t grow a larger movement by subtracting members from it. Only in political science do we ignore certain “laws” of nature. In no Presidential election of the modern era has one party won support outside of the
