The difference between this app and 🧵is so interesting. I’ve cross posted a couple of times and while a post my get me an influx of followers, I rarely receive any interaction. On 🧵the same post can get me thousands of interactions but few followers. Weird.

Got the carbon tax rebate yesterday and am still baffled by those who hate this program. Every 3 months I’m given $188 which is more than I pay in the actual tax. Why you mad Bro?

Holy hell what a week! Property sold, property bought, divorce finally came through, got hired for a job in Edmonton, have another interview tomorrow (because who can live on only one job these days?) and tomorrow is my last day at my current job. Friday I drive to Edmonton to finally see the house

I donate plasma regularly (not entirely altruistic, they pay well and I need the money). The staff treat me like I’m walking into Cheers, always going out of their way to say hello. Last night was my last donation before moving to another city so my reception was extra special. 1/2

I have a coworker with whom I enjoyed friendly banter who posted something awful on FB. One of those ultra xtian memes about candy canes are shaped like a J for Jesus and it was 3 wise MEN not THEMS! Blah blah. I commented ‘wow, I can’t believe you posted that’ and simply unfriended her.

I recently had a woman tell me she wanted to date me but not until she lost 22lbs. I thought she was kidding but she wasn’t. When I told her I wasn’t comfortable cheering someone on to lose weight we agreed to just be friends. I ran into her a few weeks later and she quickly walked away from me.

White people really cannot stand when something excludes us. It’s so pathetic. Not everything has to be for you, y’all!

I’m not one to complain about getting old; the alternative is much worse. This is especially true as I face losing both siblings to cancer. But for real, when going for a long walk hurts your elbow, there’s gonna be a little complaining. Eff me.

I’m coming over from the other places and it just feels hopeless to keep rebuilding my community. I really started to feel like I had something going at the 🧵space. Not sure I have it in me to do it over again. How are the rest of you finding your people?
