We transplanted 2 moss species with different climate niches (one "warm" species, one "cold" species), together & alone across a latitudinal gradient in 🇸🇪. When growing alone both species responded positively to warmer 🌡️, but this reversed for the cold species when growing next to the warm species.

Here we show how competitive interactions can modify, and even reverse, the direct effects of climate on organism performance.
