Film photographer in Birmingham, Alabama. I am somehow still an Auburn fan and I like it when it rains on F1 races.
Maytown just left their fire truck outside and what was I supposed to do, NOT take pictures of it? Kentmere 200 in the Olympus XA, which is a hella good camera that fits in my pocket.

Scenes from West Jefferson County, Alabama. Kodak Gold 200 in the Fuji G690. I love this stupid camera but only getting 8 shots a roll.... I will never financially recover from this.

East Birmingham, Alabama. I love these buildings so much. If they ever paint them I'm going to be so mad.

Gadsden, Alabama. What a wonderful abandoned storefront. The dudes at the auto repair shop looked at me crazy for taking a few photos of it, but I'm pretty used to that reaction by now.

Film at Little River Canyon. Portra 800 and Gold 200, shot in the Fuji G690. Yeah, these rule. I love the colors, I love everything about them.

Little River Canyon, Alabama. Today we went and looked at some pretty trees. It was a very good day.

Revisiting Dora, Alabama with the Fujica G690. I am burning some film through this thing. I think I like 6x6 and 6x7 better than 6x9, though.

Birds of Bessemer, Alabama and yes, you guessed it, expired film. I have a whole bunch of film people have given me, or I've found in the bottom of a dusty camera bag at an estate sale, and I'm working my way through it. Sometimes, it's...ok.

Those Radiohead setlists from Madrid are disgustingly good.

Bessemer, Alabama. Fuji G690.

Here's some more, my first roll of Kodacolor 200 in 35mm. As you can tell, this was a good ass time shooting the kind of stuff I like to shoot. It's a well-known location but I'd never been there before.

Old Bryce Hospital, Northport, Alabama. Acros in the Fuji G690. Yeah uhhh I love these. I need more Acros in my life.

Yes, I took some pictures today.

Eufaula, Alabama. Expired film, you never know if it's going to be trash and these...these are good. The final roll in the Kiev 4 before I sold it.

Birmingham, Alabama. Sometimes it seems like things are left for me to photograph on purpose. It's my Intelligent Design Urban Decay Theory. Gold 200 in the Mamiya C3.

I love the ever loving hell out this 6x9 camera. I think I'm going to send it off to a dude named Frank to fix though because sometimes it eats frames and I'll be real, this may be The Camera Chris Has Been Searching For To Be The One True Camera. Well, for medium format at least.

Somewhere in West Jefferson county, Alabama. Look at the detail on that sign. 6x9 does not mess around.

Perfect Nails, Red Mountain Plaza. It gets dark early, so it's night photography at 6pm now. Not crazy about the framing of the second shot but I was mildly concerned some nail people were gonna yell at me.

I have no clue what happened to the rest of this building but I'm glad they left this part, it looks like a Roman ruin or something.
October 23, 2025 at 12:34 AM
I'm sure I'll shoot it again, but these 6x9 negatives are probably as good as it gets. Unfortunately focusing a 4x5 at night sounds like a problem.

Once a week I have about 30 minutes near this waiting on my kid, and I guess I'm just going to keep shooting it. This was shot on the Fuji G690, Fomapan 400 which has a ridiculous reciprocity failure rate- all of these shots were over 20 seconds. BUT, it worked. They look cool. A couple more below.
