@futurebird As to whether it provides joy? It is more a lack of distractions and maintenance than active joy.

Someone else mentioned dish washer, I don't have one of those. Have lived in places that had them installed and never used them.

@futurebird I have never owned a car or purchased a TV and do not currently own an oven.

I kind of missed the oven for a bit, but it usually is not hard to work around it as I didn't do much baking anyway.

I haven't had a stereo in about 20 years.

For anyone wondering, the upgrade took about 400MB of disk space to cache the new packages.

The upgrade from Bookworm to Trixie on my Raspberry Pi completed successfully. System rebooted successfully, opened up a remote connection for me, and mounted my ZFS volume. Despite all the prompts and pauses there were no problems.

The process continues to stop occasionally to prompt. It's been "running" for over an hour, but a lot of that has been waiting while I was away doing other things. Each time I come back I find that it has stopped. Guess it's not meant to be an unattended upgrade.

The Raspberry Pi 2 is about ten years old and not exactly a powerhouse. It's likely to take an hour or so for it to unpack all the new packages.

I told the upgrade process _not_ to restart background services during the upgrade and it immediately reported it was restarting cron and sshd. Not great when the process ignores explicit user choices.
