Reader, sometimes writer, mom, wife, cat and dog mom. Little Free Library steward. Blue Dot in Oklahoma. I really want better than what we've got.
They've given up all pretense of wanting to attract new, solid businesses to OK.
Since that's too hard for Republicans to manage, they've decided to just burn it all down.
And Oklahomans are lining up with their gas cans to add fuel to the fire, knowing that their own houses will burn too. #Oklahoma

They're following their own playbook.
Don't believe for a second that they didn't plan all this in advance. It's about showing what they CAN do if we don't fall in line.
No kudos, no backing down, no acting like they did something benevolent or humane. They're FUCKING with us.

Dear @democrats.org

WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!?!?!?

Six days in and it's completely apparent that we're not going to survive this.
The United States of America is dead. Republicans are selling her organs and pissing on her corpse.

This is who Oklahoma's AG is giving reports to about human trafficking and the state of Oklahoma. In case you're still pretending this isn't a dystopic nightmare of a hellhole state

‘City Elders’, a Shadowy Christian Dominionist Group, Organizing Takeover of Cities Across Country
Today we’re talking about “City Elders.” No, it’s not a senior citizen group that meets every Thursday morning to discuss books; not a group of retired folks volunteering at a local food bank; not a s...

City Elders is a White "Christian" Nationalist group formed in Tulsa Oklahoma to promote Project 2025 and all of the evil that goes with it.

The fact that our AG sucks up to them is alarming at best and horrifying in reality.
Our Human Trafficking Response Unit has traversed Oklahoma the last few weeks as we wrap up National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, visiting with the City Elders in Tulsa, the Pryor Rotary and with several groups in Tulsa and OKC about how we are uniting efforts to prevent human trafficking.

Juliana is taking the same astronomy class that Max took. One night a week, they have class at the nearby observatory, which I loved so much when we got to visit in June. She sends me pictures to make me happy.

#Oklahoma has two senators.

One believes 13 year olds can consent to sex because God.
The other believes it's okay to show up to work drunk because GOP.

And these are the people we have *chosen* to represent us because diversity is bad? We are SO broken.
January 14, 2025 at 6:34 PM
That good ol' #Oklahoma standard.

We get what we vote for. We apparently vote for drunk and greedy over democracy here.
Ah. Cool
Markwayne Mullin: "Senator Kaine, or I guess I better use the senator from Virginia, starts bringing up the fact that 'what if you showed up drunk to your job?' How many senators have shown up drunk to vote at night? ... how many senators have gotten a divorce for cheating?"

The preface to Les Misérables.

It's definitely time for a reread.

Ran out of peanuts, hotdogs, and eggs. So when the crows showed up this morning, I took out crackers and a cup of Rikki's dog food.

Apparently crows love dog food.

Got a flier for a City Council candidate. Go to look her up. Cover photo is a cross on a Bible against an American flag background.

That's probably gonna be a no from me.

Did you pray for DJT to become president, vote for him because he's going to deport immigrants, and then celebrate Christmas because you love the baby Jesus?

Then your church is failing you. Or you are failing your church.

Or both.
December 26, 2024 at 5:39 PM
Millions of Americans who voted for Trump believe they celebrated the birth of Christ unironically yesterday. The rest of us know better.

"You have to VOTE better to DO better" along with one of our horrible statistics.

Republican values= Elon Trump's Ego > Childhood Cancer Research Funding

They're the very opposite of prolife, but we knew that.

Just wait until President Musk decides that Starlink is the only internet service Americans can have.

Don't think he will? I promise he'll try.
December 20, 2024 at 3:23 PM
This government shutdown isn't just on Trump and Musk.

It's on the millions of people who voted republican in the last election. This is exactly the chaos they wanted.

We had good options. They didn't want that. They wanted the shitshow.

Make them own it.
December 19, 2024 at 3:02 PM
This is worse than they're closing. They scammed Oklahomans with the government's help. Because Oklahoma is the easiest target for these things.

We knew from day one that this wasn't what they said it was. But Oklahoma's going to vote for intolerance over progress every time.
***BREAKING***

Canoo has furloughed its remaining Oklahoma employees and will be “idling” its two Oklahoma manufacturing facilities while it “works to finalize securing the capital necessary to move forward”

It's time for a new party. If we've got nothing to lose, then now is the time to make it happen.
Voters don’t want to see a party that’s willing to cede even an inch in the name of “good governance,” they want a party that’s willing to fight to the very end to gain ground.

Republicans regularly refuse to govern because of culture wars yet they won the popular vote for the first time since 04.

I was outside giving the crows their scrambled eggs and hotdog breakfast, carrying on a whole conversation with them. I didn't realize the neighbor was outside.

He probably thinks I'm nuts.
