I dont beleive you. The Luddites were right, as they were an anti-sweatshop labour movement and sweatshops were/are bad. But the dominant narrative is to claim they were anti-progress, a claim constantly levelled against people who're right. The Luddites werent wrong, the bad guys just always win

i feel like the only comparable thing is the kind of cultural erasure that is used to attack Indigenous cultures. when they talk about the importance of cultural connections and histories and elders and dignity and existence and survival and identity, its the only thing that comes close.

A story like my own life. I dont know if younger trans ppl today really understand what it was like being a kid in the 90s. not just being an egg, not just repression, but more like, you have no idea that the thing you are even exists. Visibility pulled us out of an almost successful erasure.

I'm being very literal, too, not facetious. Working in a uni environment it was shocking how many people doing teaching work had no place doing it, and had rotten attitudes toward the students, and they were always the type who thought everyone else was scamming bc on some kevel they knew they were.

No Jared, there is actually just something wrong with you and your judgement. Most normal people do mot have this experience, unless they are a very specific kind of incurious, arrogant dickhead.
