Zohran Mamdani and Disney… did you know Zohran Mamdani produced the soundtrack for 2016 Disney film Queen of Katwe, starring Lupita Nyongo?

The film was directed by Mamdani’s mother, Mira Nair, who also directed an episode of the Disney+ National Treasure series.

Disney+ updated their browser UI to all vertical cards, only on the home page (for now). I much prefer this look over the horizontal.

Frozen the Broadway Musical on Disney+ made the Nielsen Top 10 Streaming Movies. That's quite impressive... at least I think so.

Growing Up, hosted by Brie Larson, is a wonderful docuseries that builds empathy by having some pretty remarkable youth share their stories about identity, with several stories focusing on what it means for them to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Howard, which is quite possible the best documentary on Disney+, tells the story of a Disney Legend gone too soon. Howard Ashman was the lyrcisit for The Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast, among others. This one also had me in tears by the end.

On the topic of shorts, Pixar's Out is another lovely and visually beautiful autobiographical short about being gay and coming out to your parents, as an adult.

First, there are several incredible original short films that showcase the queer experience, as part of the Launchpad collection. The Roof, Maxine, Beautiful FL, The Little Prince(ss), and Growing Fangs are all so well done. The Little Prince(ss) had me in tears the first time I watched it.

As we come to close on Pride month, I want talk a little bit about LGBTQ+ content on Disney+

It seems like Disney has really scaled back on LGBTQ+ representation, unfortunately. However, there is still many diverse and beautiful queer stories (...that they just don't really promote).

Look this isn’t a bad attraction. It looks fun and they did the best they could to incorporate it into Frontierland, but something like this could’ve just replaced the Tomorrowland Speedway. For some reason though, Magic Kingdom needs two racetrack rides.
