Reasons not to comment on somebody’s weight loss:

• they might have an eating disorder
• they might be sick
• they might be grieving
• people are more than their weight
• it reinforces that being thin is better
• it’s none of your business

My friend, Pip Booth, is doing amazing work investigating musicians’ experiences with disordered eating. She’s posted on her Instagram (linked) a call for participants to take her questionnaire. Spread the word #musicscience community! #musicskyence

Law doesn't deliver justice.

Austerity, wage freezes, public service cuts imposed by parliament.

300,000 Britons die each year awaiting hospital appointment.

111,000 died last year in poverty;

128,000 died in fuel poverty, including. 111,000 pensioners,

Whatever happened to the ‘rule of law’ in the UK?
Even if people can get access to the courts, at best they will get an interpretation of law, not justice.

Attending an online discussion this morning about the impact SCOPED will have on the theraputic professions in the UK.
For those unfamiliar- Scoped is a new framework which enshrines the medical model and pathologisation, it also heavily favours freud/jungian practitioners
Yeah it's bad #therapy

Gregg Wallace has been accused of making "lesbian jokes constantly" by a woman who worked on a travel show with him.

The woman, who we are calling Anna, said he was "fascinated" by the fact she dated women and asked her the "logistics" of how it worked.
Gregg Wallace 'fascinated by my sex life and made lesbian jokes'
A number of workers across a range of shows have approached BBC News with claims about the TV presenter.

Some have said the assisted dying debate has been "parliament at its best". I'm not so sure. Instead I think religion has quietly played a dominant role in the debate, distorted the conversation, with few believing MPs being straightforward about why. My piece for the i. inews.co.uk/opinion/mps-...
MPs are being dishonest about why they oppose assisted dying
For many, religious belief plays a part - and MPs should make clear when that is the case

I know someone who changed their name to a 'man's' name in therapy facebook groups and it totally changed how they were responded to, and the level of deference they received. And this is a profession in which men are significantly in the minority.

In 2018, I could find little literature on how being #workingclass might influence learning and engagement in HE. So I wrote 👇. This was inspired by watching the way working class nurses used humour (or inclusive forms of banter) to engage my dad at the bedside of my dying mum.
