To get into medical school, you need a perfect gpa, volunteer hours in something related, a full slate of extra curriculars +about $200K & if you get in, it takes about 10 years to really do medicine.

Back in time people paid their doctors. Then insurance said, give us the $$ & we'll take some (as much as we can)& we might decide not to pay your doctor & you should pay. & we accepted that. Now the PBMs are repeating that model & people vote (against their interests) for people who like this.
