This is very sad to see. I've now blocked them from my South African feed. I can't in good conscience be responsible for the spread of this type of rubbish.
From the url it does appear to be an opinion piece and not their 'news' as such, but they don't make that clear in the piece itself.

I also only have two beds like that, and I few pots. Not enough to sustain us, but it brings me endless joy to watch the veggies grow. I can't believe how much I've enjoyed such a small thing.

I'm also gonna start squishing things together. Because my garden doesn't turn out as lush as this when I use the recommended spacing.

I'm not familiar with your climate. Here in the Western Cape we have a Mediteranian climate. Warm, dry summers and then mild, wet winters.
