The Dauphin Island Sea Lab is the state of Alabama's marine science research and education center.
Our new research vessel is taking shape at the Louisiana-based shipyard Aluma. After Thanksgiving, the hull will be flipped and the deck house attached.

Funds for the vessel were made available through support from the Gulf of Mexico Energy Securities Act (GOMESA).

We had some fun today at the Alabama Aquarium with our Tank or Treat event. Visitors had the chance to get up close to creepy crawly critters and chat with our graduate students.

Join us Thursday, October 23, at 10 a.m. for underwater pumpkin diving with our scientific divers.
