Second, I listened to the audiobook and the narrator CRUSHES IT SO HARD.
Third, it definitely isn't for everyone and it doesn't take a lot to notice that most of the action scenes require a certain level of unrealistic stupidity to take place.
I'd say give book 2 a shot and give up if you hateit

It's tough to recommend any series that isn't finished, but I can say the first three books hold together really well as a trilogy without the need to read the others.
First, book 2 is SO much better. Turns into a full-on space opera, and becomes much more complex thann Hunger Games on Mars

Capable of anything, you just need a masters in scrivener to do it all. 😂

Blood Over Brighthaven was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I think it was a really really good execution on a simple idea. But the simple idea made the book pretty predictable and didn't leave me feeling super satisfied at the end.

That's a good point haha. With everything so bleak, the fairly positive ending was a bit surprising.
I also didn't expect the Saints to be what they were. I saw the setup, but I totally thought they'd be something else.
