Really didn't want to travel via American but was best route for a short notice flight and vastly cheaper than Asia or Middle East.

Super stressful too, they took my phone so I couldn’t contact my wife and with no clock in the room I had no idea how long I’d been stuck there.

All of this just because I’m a dual national and they didn’t like that I’d previously travelled through the US on a different passport.

We only had a 3-hour layover and ended up missing the bag drop, but luckily found someone who helped us re-check in. After that it was a full sprint to the gate, which was just about to close.
