I want people to really understand and grapple with how bad it is for victims and all of us to live in a system where sexual violence is not punished, but victims are punished more for coming forward. I need people to see it for what it is so that we can actually do something about it

And this is yet another reason why I despise this guy. We need to be mobilizing across the left and independent voting blocks to advocate for all and to fight fascism, not needlessly kicking up drama and divisions. All Hasan and Cenk do is suck up all the oxygen in any room they're in.

Has democratic leadership been disappointing recently re: trans issues? Yes. And Hasan is cynically weaponizing that in order to silence his trans critics. But compare blue state trans life to red state trans life and tell me there's no difference.

By the way, Hasan is one of the least-affirmative of all the leftist content creators, if you compare him to people like Majority Report, Muckrake Podcast, Leftist Mafia, Democracy Now, etc.

One thing I loved about Zohran the first time I heard him speak was that it was obvious he was a dreamer. Not delusional but in the way that a person with heart, creativity can will things into being. His mother was a filmmaker so he learned how to construct new narratives. We have to do that, too.

There is also possibility living on this knife's edge of change. People are waking up. Big talk of civil war can melt away when people see their neighbors in trouble. Americans have been propagandized with comeback stories since film was invented; maybe we try manifesting some hollywood realness.

I fear a future worse than we've even imagined because the U.S. is uniquely dangerous due to its extreme wealth, surveillance tech, and social media hate machines. And as a trauma survivor I know that abusers, like those running our govt, tend to become more violent and deadly over time.

We can't vote or even justice-system our way out of this, because they've rigged those systems. We can't plan on sending these nazis away to country club prisons while we tackle the decades-long work of tackling income inequality.

We have skilled progressives who aren't wreckers and who can engage in thoughtful and difficult conversations without dividing the base -- people like AOC, Greg Casar, Zohran Mamdani, Bernie Sanders. None are perfect but they've shown leadership.
