I never saw ground combat, but I can relate to the chaos of real time problem solving and Spartan communication during my time controlling air battles on the E-3 AWACS. For the uninitiated to truly understand warfare, this film is a must see.

Read this book. It's a fascinating deep dive into the history of information and how humans use it to organize civilization, control, ownership. A must read to understand why we loathe bureaucracy, while it simultaneously keeps order.

Gen X, here. We didn't have any sock choices outside of white crew or dress socks. The kids have opportunities in foot coverings we never had. I didn't look like a dork all those years just to go backwards! Now get off my lawn!!!
