I’ve been to quite a few fairly large Tamil music shows this past year (here in the UK) & I cannot get over the level of commercialisation at these shows. £250+VIP seating, paid meet & greets, constant sponsor shout-outs, logos displayed (& ads run!) behind artists whilst performing on stage. Wild.

Eeks the final episode of Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light is up on iPlayer already but I’m not sure I’m ready to face that quite yet…

I think I’ve just ruined long haul travel for myself forever - for *reasons*, I treated myself to a business class flight home from Costa Rica, and oh gawd, now every flight I take from hereon out is going to be full of regret and envy, isn’t it?

Making the most of the 4+ hour delay to my flight home by rewatching all of Wolf Hall. I honestly could listen to Mark Rylance read the phone book and be content. Perhaps I should line up a few episodes of Bing too, just in case the delays continue.

Ah sod it, deleted those posts because I don’t want to appear like I’m picking on someone or being an arse for petty reasons. Instead, here’s some more photos from Costa Rica (yes, I’m still here!) because, who doesn’t love sloths, monkeys & colourful birds?!

In today’s edition of ‘Just Look Up’, I saw keel-billed toucans and green macaws (all whilst I was lazying by the pool)! Quite some distance ‘up’ mind, so my photos don’t quite do justice to the beauty of these birds.

Initial thoughts on Bluesky: I do feel somewhat “safer” posting my inane holiday musings/photos but it definitely feels more like a space for keeping up with (both “IRL” & online) friends than somewhere I’d first go to for political/social insight/discussion/news. I guess this will change over time!

Turns out that a 20km bike ride in the midday Costa Rica sun, when you’ve done sod-all exercise in about 2 years, is a really bad idea but you are rewarded with a nice beach or 2 to lay down & pass out on, when it all gets too much

I need the number of his stylist. I’ve been nothing but a big ball of frizz since I arrived in CR & this one is just casually hanging out along the roadside, looking like he just walked out of the salon 😆
