If you put a bit of work into your application - a custom cover letter that shows you actually know something about the company and want to work there - your odds of getting an interview will skyrocket. Especially at smaller companies (<500 people).

An unfollow button is essential. I was surprised when people started following me & I had yet to post anything. I can understand accounts I follow, but these others make me suspicious. & some accounts follow everyone hoping you'll follow them to get their follower count up, then they unfollow you.
