I went home with several of these fliers, along with two catalogs for Bizarre and Metro Video. As much as I love hunting for vintage porn online, it was even more fun to encounter these materials in the Real World.

This one dir. FJ Lincoln. At a thrift store I dug through several crates of porn (mostly Playboy and Oui) to find these. Picture me kneeling on the dusty concrete floor. At one point a dad walked by with his son. "Uh oh!" said the dad to his son, pointing at a she-male porn dvd. "She's got a dick!"

I've been doing lots of research about trans porn lately. I'm especially interested in trans* porn directors like Kim Christy and Karin Dior. Kim and Karin were some of the first trans* women to direct movies in ANY genre, and many of their movies directly addressed a trans-feminine audience.

By the 1980s video had become THE medium for projecting moving images of trans women into the popular imagination. Thru the power of feedback, video injected moving images even deeper into our self-perception. In The Queen (1968) Harlow is confronted by 16mm cameras, but not her own moving image.

From '95-'00, Laurie Ann reviewed trans-interest films for Ladylike in her collumn TVideo Reviews. Laurie reviewed new releases and older movies (Born a Man Let Me Die a Woman, Funeral Parade of Roses, She Man, etc.) out on VHS from companies like Video Search of Miami and Something Weird Video.

In her work for Female Mimics Magazine as well as her films, director Kim Christy often tutored trans* women about how to exude confidence and appear more feminine. The videos in this "TV and TS Special Interest" section here serve much the same purpose, and address trans-femme consumers directly.

TV and TS Adventures continued. Love the bondage art on the covers of Bizzare Videos Productions from the early 80s ("Transvestite Castle", e.g.). It is difficult to identify the artist for these, but I imagine they were affiliated with Centurion Publishing. Which of these is your favorite? :)

Pages from a Bizarre Video Productions Catalog from the mid 90s. Between the "Bondage and Domination" and "Red Hot Spanking Action" sections we find dozens of releases in the "TV and TS Adventures" category, including a reissue of "Glen or Glenda" and Bizarre Videos Productions from the early 1980s.
