Ha! I only play golf because I haven’t got enough stress in my life.

As for going back to work, I only retired that early because my profession decided that I was the wrong side of 50 to be useful. If you think I should be stacking shelves at B&Q you can sod off.

Absolutely this! Tax rules are there to protect the wealth of the affluent.

Even without NI saving Indian workers much cheaper to employ. 2 outcomes:

1. British workers squeezed out of jobs in multinational co’s as they ‘second’ ppl into UK jobs.

2. UK co’s without an India presence pay more for resource and are therefore at a disadvantage to multinationals.

The choice is a share of the power or no power at all.

Well, duh!

It’s been blindingly obvious for years they want to kick the Palestinians out of Gaza and West Bank. They just needed an excuse. Then it’ll be Lebanon.

UK politics is fragmented. The only way to stop an extremist minority government is PR. Labour are too stupid to see they’ll be wiped out at the next election without this.

Whether they are common or not, it still makes ‘seconded’ staff even more cheaper to employ than UK workers.
May 7, 2025 at 3:32 PM
That’s a bit naive, I have worked for a number of IT companies (not Indian) over the years who loved Indian worker secondments because they were cheaper than UK workers. This will make them even cheaper. Of course that will affect jobs for UK workers.

I don’t think it’s the money she cares about.

I’m actually from Pencoed. Never ever put a ‘-‘ in it.

I’ve realised that politicians often tell the truth even when they don’t mean to. Tariffs MIGHT make the US a richer country, but most of its residents will be poorer.

I don’t know about food but the Roman amphitheatre in Orange is superb.

Can water-filled potholes now be seen as a Brexit benefit?

I get the impression that, back in the day, love thy neighbour meant love everyone in your tribe. Everybody else was fair game for mistreatment, oppression, etc.

Japan and China teaming up? Hmmm, I think not!

Hate Reform, but if they get a significant % of the vote then they deserve to be represented.

“And the winner with less than a quarter of the vote is…”

Absolute farce that we still have FPTP.
