Unlike some of the other drawings in this series, the portal here is deliberately minimal—just a structure that resembles a lift door. I kept it simple so it wouldn’t distract from the strange interaction unfolding at the shoreline. This scene is more about the meeting than the passage.

Just finished Ghostdrift by Suzanne Palmer. Space adventure but really original and with some surprises.

She's called Nanny.
We met on the 19th of December 1985...
and were living together before New Years day.
Married in 1990. 35 years and counting ;-)

If you ever write that story I would love to read it.

It's funny but I've been bitten now and working on a similar comic style portrait of my daughter (about the same age as my wife was in the picture).
And that probably won't be the last I'll do.
