when this is all done, next will be to animate stuff like idle anims, movement and attacks, then work on my state machine and input buffer as i go on.

Next year will be full of challenges and uncertainty, but I want you to be sure that Knuckle Down will continue to be worked on through the ups and downs. All this inner world brought me to will be revealed in due time.

There's a lot of other friends that have shown interest in helping me build this project as well, and many others that have encouraged me to keep on moving. If you're reading this, you know who you are - and I thank you for being there for me. For real.

But most of all, D was the guy that helped me get all these scattered thoughts and ideas from this inner world, and jut them down on text. Without him, the lore we're building for this project would be an unfocused, chaotic mess. I'm extremely lucky to have him on my side.

Thanks to him, I was able to design outlines for movesets and mechanics that made sense over these years. Him and other very close friends pushed me to dive further into FGs, and understand concepts like frame data, inputs, balance, everything that holds those games together.

And then I thought, "You know what? I should make a game about this". I decided to nut up and start spitballing ideas with a dude who's been a very valuable friend since forever, I'll call him D. That kickstarted everything - now D is pretty much my co-D on this project. Hah.

Naturally, as I started to feel out who I was, I'd start to have these little stories play out inside my head, directly influenced by all this new shit that I was being influenced by. Lo and behold, I had a whole ensemble cast in their own little world, somewhere in my mind.

It was after this that I began to go on a bit of a "self-discovery journey", so to speak. I enrolled on some web design studies, opened up to people dipped my toes a little into playing fighting games with my friends, started getting into shit like Baki, nu-metal and rap, MMA...

Truth be told, I've looked towards game development as my ticket towards a better future since I was a teen, and my vocational studies then naturally followed that path. But between personal troubles and frustrations with my first project, I gave up on it for a while.

currently the goal is to refactor things into a state machine, then tackle animation and hitbox/hurtbox placement and collisions. i feel like i'll need to work on finishing a 3d model of one of my characters, and animate it for visual feedback and implementation based on the armature first.
