I'm still playing Octopath Traveler 2, and I'm now at the point where the bosses have become a real challenge. The game continues to be a lot of fun, and I'm enjoying how open it is with which paths I can tackle first.

Very revealing (though unsurprising) order of importance here for The Game "Awards," even if this wasn't already clear from watching previous showcases. variety.com/2025/gaming/...

I'll be playing Octopath Traveler 2 for quite a bit of time, but that's fine. This is very much one of those games were I wish I could stop everything play this all day, because it's great so far. I'm about 22 hours or so in.

I’m only just starting Octopath Traveler II, so I don’t have much to say yet. But I really like what I’ve played so far, and I’m very much looking forward to losing myself in it.

It’s so easy to read this stuff from Stellan Skarsgård about capitalism from his Vulture interview as Luthen Rael from Andor. www.vulture.com/article/stel...

I actually just finished Master Detective Archives: Rain Code this evening, which was a great time. The third case was weaker than the others, but the others more than made up for that.

Okay, thanks for informing me, Twitch.

I'm into the fourth case in Master Detective Archives: Rain Code right now, which continues to be a lot of fun. There are ways in which this game further resembles the Ace Attorney titles compared to the Danganronpa games, especially with how the mysteries develop.

Great character.

The main city in Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, Kanai Ward, looks really nice. It makes sense when you're spending a lot of time in it, but they nailed the cyberpunk dystopia feel. It's even raining all the time.

Make a new Soulcalibur game already, you cowards.

I started playing Master Detective Archives: Rain Code this week. The first case is down, which was much longer than I expected, with the title drop happening afterward. That's enough to tell me it will be a lengthy one. It's also funny to see how they didn't drift far from the Danganronpa format.

It’s really worth noting how the idea for a game where an Assassin hunts KKK members wouldn’t have been controversial not even ten years ago. We’ve fallen far very quickly.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has some tough challenges, with some being mandatory. Most of them are tough but fair, and it feels very rewarding to succeed in them.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a little longer than I expected, certainly a Hollow Knight-style Metroidvania game in more ways than one between that and the way in which area maps are acquired. But I’m not complaining when it’s a lot of fun.

I'm going to guess this is a little glitch, or the range on this enemy throw is too good. It looked like a rollback input in an online fighting game.

Far enough in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to reach the Bullshit Enemy Placement stage. But don't get the wrong idea: It's a great game.
September 27, 2025 at 4:18 PM
I think I'm somewhere between one-third or halfway through Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown now, and it's a great time. Ubisoft hasn't made many Metroidvania titles before, but this game shows how at least one team has it in them. It's a shame the sales were underwhelming, but I'll cross my fingers.

My original plan was to start playing Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown today, but the package delivery was delayed until Sunday. In the meantime, I’m playing more -- wait for it -- Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.

I'm still having too much fun with the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, which has been about me rediscovering how addictive all these games are. I'm also watching Kamen Rider Zero-One, which is a very fine-*enough* Kamen Rider series, but still enjoyable.

I’ve gravitated back to the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics for the weekend, because the Marvel vs. Capcom games specifically are simply too much fun to put down for long.

The Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter demo is a great time. I'm finally experiencing what I've been missing with this series, and I'm glad there's an old-new entry point. Thunderbolts*, meanwhile, was the best Marvel movie in a good while (since Guardians 3, at least). Good start to the weekend.
