OR World-renowned professors spend their evening fixing a relationship between two mystery students who think they're texting each other. Jayce exhales deeply, pushing his hair back with one hand before he searches their floor littered with their clothes for Viktor's phone. When the device stops ringing, they are only afforded less than a minute of silence before it starts back up again. Whoever it is is persistent enough to be heard at — what? — midnight? "It had better be an emergency if they're blowing up your phone like this," Jayce scowls as he hands the phone to Viktor. Viktor finds that he agrees as he sits up from the bed. A quick look at the caller ID reveals it's not a saved contact. Rather, it's from an unknown number that Viktor suspects might be from a student — especially considering that the ringtone specifically comes from his work number. Were it someone from the faculty, they're more likely to contact him through email. Heimerdinger only reaches out to Viktor through his private number regardless, even if he had told the old man so many times not to. Viktor swipes and accepts the call and puts on a neutral tone. For three years, Jayce held onto his new life. Viktor's name didn't make him curl up in a ball and want to end it all anymore. He even looked forward to waking up. He finally adjusted to his routine, grew out his hair and beard and kept it clean, and learned to like existing again. People who saw him no longer associated him with the Talis fame and the Hextech business. He was no longer the Man of Progress and the Golden Boy of Piltover. For once, he was just Jayce Talis — a Zaun instructor with a wonderful girlfriend and a group of friends who like him enough to invite him to get drinks on a Friday night. It almost felt like moving on. The stranger that saved him would be proud. And then Viktor called him out of the blue on a Sunday morning.

Can't call it quits by dioscums Summary: After four years together, Viktor finally decides to end his relationship with Jayce. It's just really poor timing that Jayce proposes right before Viktor gets the opportunity to say it. Viktor swears he's going to break up with Jayce before the night ends. In fact, he's going to say it now before their food arrives. Rip the band-aid off as they say. Maybe there's still time to cancel their order. When Jayce reaches over the table to take his partner's hand just to entwine their fingers, Viktor's mind stutters like a defective machine. He lets Jayce talk briefly about his work with the council today and how he's mostly been looking forward to tonight. "You look so beautiful, like a painting. Did you know that?" Jayce remarks, his gaze assessing Viktor in a fitted suit that Jayce had commissioned a week ago for this very night. "You've told me a thousand times," Viktor replies. He tries to go for a dry and sarcastic tone but ends up sounding flirtatious instead. It doesn't help that Viktor's tilting his head a little to the side invitingly, blinking slowly as Jayce locks eyes with him once more. Viktor's heart skips a beat at the sight and he barely holds in the urge to bite his lower lip — a familiar mating call. It's stupid. Viktor needs to focus.
