I mean it was also very bad but taking a moment to appreciate the good is required for my own mental stability

I don’t really think that’s fair to say. It goes well beyond romanticizing.. you’re talking tens of thousands man hoursof free sweat blood and tears equity that dozens of people have put into the club for next to nothing. People are well invested into the club beyond emotionally romanticizing it.

It is a cultural problem within the front office, and it is one that has been ever present as we relentlessly pursued growth into the USL. I think the large investments made into the club in the last 6 to 12 months, have also greatly impacted the culture of the club and its FO.

Agree there are challenges with scaling. My issue isn’t even with the growth or this challenges with scaling, but it seems that the club just keeps making the same mistakes over and over again with regards to how it treats it staff and it doesn’t matter who they are and that is not due to scaling.

I can’t keep supporting them like I would a community club. A community club wouldn’t do that. This is not what we envisioned when we put in all that equity. I understand businesses have different needs as they grow, but you can’t stray from your principles in pursuit of growth. Tough times ahead.

I wouldn’t support a restaurant or grocery store that does this. I wouldn’t be the customer of a service business that overworks and under pays their employees. The club supports good causes but the way it operates behind closed doors is really disappointing.

So no more special treatment. I try to support companies that have values and principles they stick to. And the repeat history of overworking their staff, of really bad exits…(past owners, past players (many club legends), coach stuff and front office people)...

They got special treatment for a long time from myself and many others because they still tried to include others in the process and they were a “community club”. But it’s become increasingly clear they don’t give a shit what supporters think. They are gonna do whatever benefits them.

Personally, and I think a lot of people are increasingly feeling this way, If they are gonna go full business I’m gonna treat them like the business they want to be. I don’t support small businesses that treat their employees like they have.

Excellent for the garden/compost

That’s what the club did in all of its major transitions. Word of mouth. Evangelicizing about the club at every opportunity.

In thinking more about this, it’s an entirely different level of risk for the club and it will need tremendous fan support. The fans continue to carry and support the team and give it the relevance we all know it deserves. Gotta be a ‘tell your friends to tell their friends’ about the new stadium.
