I mean, it's for one tape, and I really don't have many others to digitize -- but I could use it for future recordings, I got lots of blank tapes. If it was a ET flavor deck, I could use the regular tapes I have for recording in SVHS.

Well, no sooner had I posted that I saw one on eBay for $190 incl. 20 ship. That's still not "good money," that was "average chance" based on seller showing it at least worked and had remote. "Good money" would be $300-400 for one guaranteed awesome and working well.

So if you know someone who has an SVHS deck that is verified working well, I'll pay good money for it. I'm thinking JVC or Sony prosumer level deck.
