I posted this on Instagram and it seemed to do well, so I wanted to share it here as well. This short clip encompasses the journey of the tattooer. This craft is taxing, physically and mentally, but the support of the people we tattoo is what carries us through.

I could not get a good picture of this dragon but I had fun meeting it. I tried drawing it all on one shot but I couldn't get the head so I ended up stenciling a head and drawing in the rest. Good clean fun.

I got to do this design at the hocus poke us mini convention this past weekend. It wasn't the busiest I've ever been, but I got the opportunity to do this incredibly fun design and talk to a kid about the band lightning bolt. It was really fun.

St Christopher translated to the style of classic electric tattoo. I grew up in a heavily conservative evangelical home so I have no love for Christianity, but the iconography associated with it makes for a great tattoo.

I put the final touches on this sleeve project for Austin. He came to me with about 5 designs in place. 2 done by me, and 3 from other artists. We ended up creating a really fun and bright classic arm that I'm so proud of

I had the pleasure of reworking this tattoo. We connected the flames from the butt to flames on the public mound. We also reworked some loose black the original tattooer haphazardly placed around the anus through the scrotum into graphic black flames.

I got really deep into this painting and ended up trying something and hated the results. That purple in the background haunts my dreams. I might paint out the whole background with a different color and try again. Sometimes art is a lot of work for nothing.

Cindy Ray passed recently. She was a tattooer down in Australia for decades. Her work and the coverage she wears embody the feminine spirit of traditional tattoo. I think of women like her and Rusty Skuse every time I have a fem client ask me to make a design smaller. Ya know, more feminine.

I prefer a healed tattoo in context. To me, #tattoos are about the full body. The way a design plays with the rest of the pieces is far more important than a single design. Healed maybe half a year.
