I just finished Silent Hill 2 the other night. It's amazing how a game over 20 years old tackles its subject matter with more finesse and sensitivity than these movies do.

While also being scarier and better written in general.

Well they both have pointy headgear, so I guess that counts for couples' costumes.

If that Dead Space movie ever gets made (I know, I know) I wouldn't mind if they did a similar approach as this is going to.

We already know the plot of the games, so why not tell a new story set in this universe to keep things fresh?

I'm legit shocked no adaptation has ever done anything like this since it's creative form of interrogation on Peter's part and is hilarious for us.

Plus it shows of much of a stinker Pete can be when he wants to. Which is something we don't see often. Especially these days.

Speaking as someone who likes the "masked gunman" explanation, I'd actually like it if this were actually explored more often in stories or adaptations. As opposed to JUST the "Spider-Man is a menace" rants that we seem to only get from JJ these days.

and even then after Richter is freed from Shaft's control he actually improves in terms of his delivery. The dialogue probably doesn't help with the acting's reputation.

The "I got the thing on the thing! What do I win? YOU!!! I win me? That makes no sense." scene is a close second for me.

But they don't. He's just grouchy comic relief in these games. It's not cool. It's not interesting. It's not even that funny. It's one note and boring. Like most of Insomniac's characterizations.

There is a lot more going on under the surface with him. In contrast with the Insomniac version, who has the depth of rain puddle. I'm just saying, if you're going to make 3 games featuring this guy, you had better give him something to do other than rant about Spider-Man. Again. And again.

It really irks me when they make JJ an Alex Jones stand-in because while he is a hardass, Jonah does have a heart and legitimate reasons for being wary of people in masks.
