I appreciate both, but yes, the final version has the monitoring function of the Observatory that gives a 1984 vibe that fits with the subtlety of the intentions of Torres; even if he seems more polite and discreet compared to the draft, you can feel that the tech shouldn't be in his hands.

I am replaying BF these days and when it came to the Torres monologue during the meeting with ""Duncan Walpole"" in Havana, I thought "Right! that reminds me of the Bluesky post from Darby notes", nice to see that Torres was already so elegant in his wording, great character.

4 It is fascinating to think that light and shadow must coexist in the world to give balance to forms; grace itself is made of this union the coexistence of Life and Death, which cancel each other out and, at the same time, define our boundaries in space and time.

3 Light reflects what once was and defines the shapes of nature; in the absence of light, life itself is missing.
Yet, at the same time, shadows outline and mark the limits of our existence, revealing our mortality.

2 In this sense, light has an effect of pure candor, helping to reveal both the transience of life, of beauty itself, and of time. Grace, captured forever in paintings and photographs, is in reality made of fleeting moments that vanish and never return.
