Combine bounded context and ilities.. and you get a good orientation to deal with modern times. Bounded Rationality is poster child, but how about bounded adaptability, bounded scalability, bounded affordability, or bounded availability.. Appreciation of bounded ilities is critical for an org.

Exaptation has to be one of those ideas that needs to be revised through contemporary writing.. so much in it that helps us orient and lead to better decisions whe designing for non-trivial systems. Once you see it, you can't unsee.
