The new ban on weapons in public places in Berlin has already been used to justify no-cause stop-and-search in several train stations, mostly ones in its more working-class and Arab neighbourhoods. It’s also anticipated that it’ll be used to perform searches after pro-Palestinian demonstrations.

Germany is, and I say this advisedly, an absolutely demented place to be right now.
