I guess it does. No dried starchy juice on the pins after?

Love the ‘tato! Is that a standard thing you use, or was it just handy?

GM got caught doing it years ago, and like the VW emissions scandal, if one of them is doing it, they’re all at it.

It’s a shame that sense of humour covers their data capture at every point of your journey and use of it to fleece you whenever they can.

I fixed all our battery lights last year. Herself had left them all with batteries in, so it was mostly a case of scrubbing the battery acid out & sanding off the corroded contacts/switches. Keeps me off the streets ;)

I’m glad I’m not alone in being the family Christmas decoration repairer.

Having seen how it affects astronomers, it’s sickening, even if musk wasn’t involved.

That’s fine, as long as you put a gambleaware web link in there somewhere for a fleeting moment. Politicians bought and paid for.

I try my best to keep Google as out of my business as possible, but they still keep guessing with their dumb algorithms that see you like one thing, and think that defines who you are for the rest of eternity.

Most of them running big supermarkets, corporations and governments.

Classic BBC spinning globe from the 70s vibe 🙂

Watched it myself last night. Not bad, although Karl tried to do the Dredd mouth too hard at times.

I must dig out my old 64C one day, last time I saw it, it was pretty yellow. IIRC the biggest pan was the dust/finger oil that used to build up in the rollers and upset calibration. Scraping the gack out and cleaning the ball was a regular thing.

It does. Had a few of those too. My original was some mental make I picked up from a seller. Might still have it somewhere. I’m sure it was blue and black with grey buttons. Nothing like the later Amiga-style ones from the 64C era. 1/2

Mice with balls. I remember picking one up from a computer fair, and getting my coder to write me a graphics design app for text and sprites.

Problem with that is that you don’t have an MOT for the first 3 years on a factory fresh car, unless that changed while I wasn’t looking? Might be a big bill if it is! If they give you that for free, it favours people who drive high mileages with spare money to buy new cars every couple of years.

I bet it’ll be some complex system that relies on technology developed by the same companies they always employ to create their software at massive expense, only to come in late and over budget, with the added bonus of it never working as intended. Looking at you Post Office and NHS.

I was given an AI generated solution to a software issue I was having recently, and found that the location in the menus it gave was totally wrong, and the pattern-matching code to enter there was also non-functional. I already have a dim view of AI, and it got dimmer that day.

… a survey found. Well that was a waste of money.

I’ll take a foot-long embarrassment with a side order of shame please.

Sorry. Let me clarify. Hannah, not you!

Sadly yeah. Spent a great Christmas playing it to death, while listening to Berserker by Gary Numan, which I also got from my folks.

The guys in charge seem to make a hobby of taking a successful product and ruining it. Internet Explorer, Skype, Office, Outlook especially, and now Xbox and Windows at the same time. Those are just the ones I know about. They’re making too much money from cloud services to care.
