and "at their best" refers to when sonic team actually had an idea what they were doing with the characters and werent just trying to listen to EVERYONE at once

idk why they cant just take the characters as theyve been portrayed in canon when they were at their best and expand on that? im also just sick of how they keep toning down amy like shes just supposed to be this mild mannered lady now like where the hell did her personality go. it really sickens me.

like as far as we have known him sonic has always had his shit pretty much figured out and its shadow who had to deal with his own trauma and take responsibility for how he lashed out because of it. and in the end he recognizes sonic as his equal and i think its more like he has some envy toward him

and why is shadow the one having to lecture him about taking responsibility as if sonic has ever been ACTUALLY irresponsible like it makes no sense to me. the reason shadow isnt like best friends with sonic isnt because some shortcoming he has. i just dont like this intepretation of the characters
