Spent some time at the Motown Museum in Detroit, then had to fill in lots of gaps in my knowledge about the Great Migration, which Henry Louis Gates helped to do with his documentary on PBS. I have so much to learn.

“Site of Conscience” - a new term for me. I appreciate the competent tour guides (Sarah at Bulldog Tour & Harriett at McLeod Plantation) who welcomed complexity and exposed the mythologies that follow the white romanticization of antebellum plantation life.
