Unlike the ECtHR in its own climate cases, the ICJ held an expert hearing with top climate scientists this week. Making it the first of likely many differences between these proceedings (after all, KlimaSeniorinnen was a concrete contentious case, while the ICJ is preparing an advisory opinion).
Starting next week, the @CIJ_ICJ will hold a two-week hearing in the climate change advisory proceedings. Today the #ICJ met with the scientists who have authored various Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ( #IPCC ) reports. I find this unusual and very odd. 🧵

🔥🚨Appalling update at #COP29, the presidency circulated a new draft text on the New #ClimateFinance Goal...
It is sooo bad.
It completely fails to deliver any meaningful new commitment towards #ClimateJustice it is a blow to equity and #ClimateAction.
Get Serious. NOW.

My latest from Grist.
Meet the peach that traveled the Trail of Tears and the elders working to save it
The "Indian peach" survived genocide. Can it withstand climate change?

Is anyone live blueskying (what's the verb here?) #Indigenous participation inside and outside of #COP29?
