Ghost's boundaries are well-known and well-respected - he likes the social play of it all, comfortable in platonic submission that lets Gaz and Soap and Price needle at him, seek reassurance that he's their steadfast and constant foundation, but pulls a hard and fast stop when it progresses too far. Soap expects to hit that wall, to get a little snark and be dismissed as a worrying mother hen. But Ghost just stares up at him, unblinking, his eyes unbearably warm, cheeks flushed along the edges of his mask. Soap frowns, reaches out to put the back of his hand on Ghost's forehead. Ghost's lashes flutter weakly. "Think I'm droppin'," Ghost mutters, leaning into the touch.

It's become a concerning morning ritual for Soap to hand Ghost his mug of tea and ask how he's doing, knowing exactly what kind of answer he's going to get. 1/4

It's not his fault I fucked up, but I can't help being pissed at him for doing so much better than me." "...It is a bit stupid," Simon agreed. "Hey! You're supposed to tell me that my feelings are valid or whatever!" Johnny exclaimed, but he didn't sound angry. Simon shrugged with a tiny smirk on his face. "They are valid," he confirmed before his expression dropped into something more serious. "But you're also being unfair." Slumping into the seat, Johnny threw his hands up in the air. "I know, alright? That's why I don't wanna talk to him yet. Don't wanna say anythin' I'll regret."

we get a double whammy for #WIPwednesday today!! After ages of not writing we get tiny snippets of progess for Dancing With Adrenaline AND for the newly named Snapping and barking and biting (originally day 2 of bottom ghost week!) (which is which? who knows :P) #ghoap
a snippet of text made with ellipsus. the text reads as follows: A hand wraps around his throat, claws poking through the balaclava, and a snarl rips out of Soap at the same time as a wave of his scent overwhelms the entire room. It hits Ghost like a punch to the nose and he's sure it's seeping into the hallways, warning anyone with a supernatural nose to Stay Away. It's territorial, possessive, feral, impatient. And all those parts tied together with the warm-spicy smell of horny. It washes over him like the tides, sharp and demanding, dragging him into the depths of his instincts. His instincts that he doesn't understand, and as such had refused to give in to. But Johnny had asked —Johnny had told him to. And despite everything, despite the confusion and the hurt, he trusts Johnny. With his life, sure. With his soft underbelly too. But, most importantly, with his mental vulnerabilities. He trusts Johnny to guide him when he's lost, to protect him when he's overwhelmed, to explain when he's confused. a snippet of text made with ellipsus. the text reads as follows: "Hate seein' ya go, L.t.," his Sergeant pipes up over comms just as Ghost smoothly vaults the fence. He lands with a quiet grunt, eyes taking in the lay of the land in front of him. Soap sounds lighthearted but Ghost can relate to the comment; he hates being on overwatch when Soap has to go in alone, too. It's always made better by the fact that it's him on overwatch and not someone he can't trust, but he would always much rather watch Soap's six from right behind him. "Just keep watching my six, Sergeant," he says, strafing to the side of the compound. Intel says standard guard rotation stationed outside, resistance inside unknown. Ghost is to assess the situation inside —to decide whether he sneaks in to get the intel himself, or if they need to get the whole team on the ground to go in guns blazing. "Nothin I'd rather be doin', sir," comes the response, upbeat and cheeky.

i have realised i can only write ghost pov when he's 1) suffering (angstangstangst) or 2) horny

SO trying to write this scene where he's in a good mood and being sassy is frustrating and difficult and i decided to get him stabbed because he's not cooperating.
(dont worry it's not staying in)

It's a soothing and familiar routine by now, something he does quite often. He claims it's for his peace of mind, but Soap accuses him of mostly enjoying startling anyone coming into the common room at night for one reason or another. Soap is not wrong. A blur of motion whirls in the corner of his vision and he turns to it just in time to catch the knife right under his ribs. It slides in easy as a hot knife through butter, hitting just where his tac vest ends.
