Help @stephgraves.bsky.social and anyone else doing queer theory and film. This is new territory for me so I really need help with essential or basic texts addressing Queer Theory, Film, and the critique of realism. I would be grateful for anything anyone can suggest.

I have survived this long by being able to laugh about almost everything. But with the war in Gaza, the forthcoming abandonment of even the most modest measures against climate change, the darkening future of Ukraine, and everything else involving the incoming administration, I have hit a wall.

It's of scant comfort, but most people throughout history have lived under tyranny of one sort or another. The last 75 or so years of American life have been far and away the exception, not the rule. And if you were a minority or in poverty, even here your life was likely hard . . .

Really, do you think that if we college profs had actually been indoctrinating anyone we would have let it turn out like this? Give me more credit as a brainwasher.
